The Team - Folks at Penseo
Penseo as an organisation has a remarkably flat structure. We are organised in six different countries and legally, each of those countries has a very “own” instance of Penseo, registered on one or several of our team members in that particular country. Decisions within Penseo are taken by majority vote (where each team member’s vote naturally counts as much as anyone else’s). In order to simplify the process of making urgent decisions, a counsil consisting of three team-members can decide upon issues that do not affect the core principles of Penseo. Our team consists of: Thomas Selig, co-founder of Penseo. -- Thomas has been active on the Internets since before the Internet went public. He has studied law in Germany and Sweden (with exchange terms in Switzerland, France and the US of A) and has been studying media design and communications (”studying law alone is way to boring”). Thomas has been professionally working with web development, information strategies, social media and communications since the mid 1990s, both employed and freelancing and he is running several dozens of well-established websites and projects. Currently, Thomas lives on planet earth. For all non-internationalists, more spcifically, that would be Sweden. Jason McKemmitt, co-founder of Penseo. -- Jason is the second co-founder of Penseo. Jason has a PhD in Psychiatric and Behavioral Genetics and a master in Computer Science. He has virtually grown up with computers, switching teddy bears for magnet tapes and romantic dates for late nights in front of obscure BBSes (we never stop harassing him for that During his eduction in Computer Science, Jason specialised on the psychological effects of human-computer interaction, giving him a competitive edge in the interface-design marketplace. Jason lives partly in Ireland, partly in Canada. (We could never really figure out, which part of him lives in which country Dimitra Katounti is the official (some would say “the only”) voice of kindness and reason within Penseo. Dimitra has been an political and internet activist since she was a teenager and has been active in a multitude of social and political projects in different countries. Professionally, Dimitra is working with both on- and offline design for political organisations, as well as community-building for different campaigns. Dimitra lives in Greece. (We will continue with the presentation of our other team-members soon).
